How to Pay with JazzCash Online in Pakistan — Without Getting Charged Extra for the Privilege

July 10, 20265 min readBy Omar Farooq

JazzCash has 44 million registered users in Pakistan. That's more than the population of Canada. It works on every network — Jazz, Telenor, Zong, Ufone — which means your uncle who still uses a Nokia 3310 can technically send you money. (He won't. But he could. The technology is there. The will is not.)

The Short Version

  • You can pay with JazzCash at any online store that displays the JazzCash logo at checkout — including BazaarNow
  • JazzCash to JazzCash transfers are free. Bank transfers to JazzCash cost Rs. 10-20 depending on your bank
  • Paying in advance with JazzCash at BazaarNow gets you 5% off your entire order — applied automatically
  • If you don't have a JazzCash account, downloading the app and setting it up takes 8 minutes. We timed it. It was a slow Tuesday

JazzCash is not just a payment app. It's Pakistan's digital wallet infrastructure

Here's something most online shopping guides won't say: paying online in Pakistan used to be a logistical nightmare. Credit card penetration is under 2%. Bank transfers required visiting a branch. COD became the default not because anyone loved it — but because nothing else worked at scale. JazzCash changed that.

The State Bank of Pakistan's 2024 report shows mobile wallet transactions grew 147% year over year. JazzCash and EasyPaisa together now process more digital payments than all Pakistani credit cards combined. If you're still only doing COD, you're leaving a 5% advance payment discount on the table on every order. That's not small. On a Rs. 6,000 order, it's Rs. 300 — enough for a family shawarma dinner. (Three rolls. Extra garlic sauce. You're welcome.)

How to actually pay with JazzCash — the step-by-step that skips the marketing fluff

  1. 1Open the JazzCash app. If you haven't downloaded it yet — JazzCash app on Google Play Store or Apple App Store. Setup takes 8 minutes. You'll need your CNIC and a selfie. The selfie will look terrible. Everyone's does. Move on.
  2. 2Load money into your JazzCash wallet. Go to a JazzCash agent (there are 200,000+ across Pakistan), use a linked bank account, or receive money from another JazzCash user. JazzCash-to-JazzCash transfers are free and instant.
  3. 3At BazaarNow checkout, select Advance Payment. Our JazzCash number — 0310 1418307 — appears in the payment details section. Send the exact order total. (The 5% discount is already deducted from the amount shown.)
  4. 4Take a screenshot of the successful payment. Send it to us on WhatsApp at the same number. We confirm within a few hours.
  5. 5Your order is processed. 2-4 working days later, you're holding the product. You saved 5%. The shawarma is on you.

The thing nobody tells you about the JazzCash 5% discount

Most stores that offer a "COD vs online payment" discount don't actually make it easy to claim. You have to enter a coupon code. Or the discount only applies to orders above Rs. 3,000. Or — and this one's my favourite — the discount is "up to 5%" which usually means 0.7% and a vague sense of disappointment.

At BazaarNow, the 5% advance payment discount is automatic. No coupon code. No minimum order. No "terms and conditions apply" in 6-point font. If your order total is Rs. 4,000, you pay Rs. 3,800. If it's Rs. 10,000, you pay Rs. 9,500. The math is not complicated. We're a store, not a calculus exam.

We offer this because advance payments save us the cost of COD returns — products that get shipped, inspected, rejected, and shipped back. About 12% of COD orders come back. That return rate costs real money. Sharing that saving with you as a 5% discount is the only honest way to encourage advance payment. Bribery, but the wholesome kind. Like paying your kid Rs. 100 to wash the car. Everyone wins. The car is clean. The kid has chips money.

JazzCash vs EasyPaisa vs Bank Transfer — which one should you use

We accept all three. They all get you the same 5% discount. Here's the honest breakdown.

  • JazzCash: Best if you already have the app. Transfers are instant and free from other JazzCash accounts. Agent network is everywhere — 200,000+ locations. The app sometimes asks you to verify your identity again for no apparent reason. This is normal. It's annoying. It's also security.
  • EasyPaisa: Same number — 0310 1418307. Same 5% discount. Slightly larger agent network. If you're already on EasyPaisa, use it. Don't download JazzCash just for us. That's a weird loyalty we don't need.
  • Bank Transfer: Use our MCB account — IBAN MUCB1017763641009108 (Muhammad Omar Farooq). Takes 1-2 hours during banking hours. Free within MCB, small fee from other banks. Best for larger orders where you want a proper bank record.

Don't pay with JazzCash if…

This is your first time ordering from a particular store and you're not sure they're legitimate. COD exists for exactly this scenario. Use it. Inspect the product. Once you trust the store — and we'd like that to be us, but we're not the jealous type — switch to advance payment and start saving.

Also: don't pay in advance if you need the product tomorrow. Our delivery takes 2-4 working days. JazzCash payments are instant, but the supply chain is not. If you need a birthday gift for a party that starts in 5 hours, go to the physical bazaar. We'll still be here for the next birthday. With the same 5% discount. And probably a new dad joke in the product descriptions.

What if something goes wrong with the payment

You send money. The payment shows as successful on your JazzCash app. But somehow we say we didn't receive it. This happens roughly 1 in 400 times — usually because of a network delay between JazzCash servers and our notification system. It resolves within 2 hours in 99% of cases.

If it doesn't resolve: send us the JazzCash transaction ID (it's in your app under Transaction History). We'll verify it manually. If the money is with us, your order proceeds. If it's stuck somewhere in the digital ether — which has happened exactly twice in our history — JazzCash reverses it within 24 hours. No one loses money. Someone might lose 24 hours of patience, but that's what chai is for.

Straight answers to the questions everyone asks

Is JazzCash safe for online shopping?+

Yes. JazzCash is regulated by the State Bank of Pakistan and uses the same encryption standards as any bank. Your money is protected. Your transaction history is private. The biggest risk is accidentally sending money to the wrong number — always double-check the digits before hitting send.

Are there any hidden fees when paying with JazzCash?+

None from our side. JazzCash may charge a small fee (Rs. 5-15) for loading money from a bank account, depending on your bank. JazzCash-to-JazzCash transfers are free. The 5% discount we give you is always larger than any fee you might pay.

Can I get a refund if I paid with JazzCash?+

Yes. If you return a product within our 7-day window, we send the refund back to your JazzCash account within 3-5 working days. Same for EasyPaisa. Bank transfers go back to your bank account. See our return policy for the details.

Do I need a JazzCash account to shop at BazaarNow?+

No. You can pay with Cash on Delivery, EasyPaisa, or bank transfer. JazzCash is one option — the option that gets you 5% off. If you prefer COD, use COD. We wrote a whole post about it. (It's on our blog. We're not subtle.)

What's the minimum order for the 5% discount?+

There isn't one. Order for Rs. 500, save Rs. 25. Order for Rs. 50,000, save Rs. 2,500. The discount applies to the total. We don't play the "minimum order for discount" game. It's exhausting for everyone involved.

Can I pay half JazzCash, half COD?+

No. We're not equipped for hybrid payments. Pick one. Commit to it. Like choosing a cricket team to support — you can't switch mid-match just because the other side hit a six.

JazzCash made online payments work in Pakistan when nothing else did. It's free, it's fast, and at BazaarNow it literally pays you — 5% back on every order. If you're already using JazzCash for mobile top-ups and bill payments, using it for online shopping is the logical next step. If you're not using it yet, download the app. Eight minutes. We timed it. On a Tuesday. Which is, objectively, the slowest day of the week. If we could do it on a Tuesday, you can do it on whatever day it is right now.
