COD is not a feature. It's trust infrastructure

Here's a thing most e-commerce founders won't say out loud: COD is expensive for the seller. Returns are higher. Cash handling is messy. 1. Open the package before you hand over the cash

The delivery rider will wait. They're supposed to. You have every right to open the package, check the product against what you ordered, and only then pay. If the rider tries to rush you — and some will, because they've got thirty more stops — politely tell them this is the only way you do COD. Nine times out of ten, they'll wait. The tenth time, call us. We'll sort it.

2. If the seal is broken, refuse it

A tampered package is a red flag the size of Minar-e-Pakistan. If the tape is cut, re-taped, or looks like someone played frisbee with your box, don't accept it. Tell the rider to mark it as damaged. Contact us immediately. We'll ship a replacement the same day — no arguments, no investigation panel, no 'please send pictures of all six angles.' We trust you. That's the whole point.

3. Have the exact amount ready. Or at least close

Delivery riders don't carry change for a Rs. 5,000 note at 8 PM. They've had a long day. Their chai has gone cold. If your order is Rs. 1,847, try to have something close to that. The rider will appreciate it. So will the next customer on his route who doesn't have to wait while he runs to the tuck shop for khulla.

When you should NOT use COD
